Normally, parents pick out their outfit of choice for their 3-year-old's picture day at school. But, Austin Steinbach's daughter had her own amazing idea up her sleeve.
Kaylieann Steinbach has always been a fan of superheroes for as long as Austin can remember--but he says that he's probably to blame for that (he even took her to San Francisco Comic Con!)
Kaylieann, who has profound hearing loss and cannot hear the letter "S," especially loves the characters Superman and Supergirl--or as she calls them, "Pooterman" and "Pootergirl."
So, when her parents laid out a variety of outfit options for her school's picture day in September, she opted for a more creative idea.
"She walked up, looked over each of her choices, turned and said 'Pootergirl!'" Steinbach told The Huffington Post. "And well, I couldn't argue with that answer."
After receiving Kaylieann's heroic photos, Austin graciously decided to share his daughter's impressive picture with the internet via Reddit and received an overwhelming amount of kind responses.
"The reaction and turnout from the deaf community is amazing," Austin told HuffPost. "I still haven’t been able to get through all the messages of support and kind words people have sent me. I could never have imagined how much her picture could have touched so many."
As for now, Kaylieann and Austin have an even tougher decision to make--which superhero she will be for Halloween.
There's no denying that Kaylieann's Supergirl ensemble is pretty awesome!
